The Grant Thornton Quoted Company awards recognise key performers in cross-industry enterprise who have worked tirelessly to advance the success of their companies. Hosted at the Natural History Museum in London, the 10th anniversary of the awards saw CEO of the Year go to Richard Law after leading GBG's to a growth of nearly 100 percent in the last year.
Yorkshire-born Law has been CEO of GBG since December 2001, during which he has led the acquisitions of criminal records specialist TMG.tv for £3 million and Crewe-based criminal records outfit CRD UK for £1.32 million. GBGroup has grown considerably under his leadership, today employing over 300 people with the ability to verify more than 3 billion people across 23 countries.
Richard Law said: “I am delighted to have been awarded CEO of the year at Grant Thornton’s QCA awards. The awards are a great opportunity to showcase the hard work and achievements attained in businesses across many industries. GBG had a fantastic 2013, offering innovative services and securing great new contracts.
