The Supplier Data used to provide the Address Formatting Datasets is supplied by a number of GBG’s Suppliers. GBG is obliged under the terms of its agreement with its Supplier, Royal Mail to ensure that all End Users agree to comply with the following licensing provisions. These Additional Terms apply to all Address Formatting Datasets. Individual Address Formatting Datasets can be identified by the ID Number listed on the End User’s Order Form.

1. DEFINITIONS
1.1. In these Additional Terms, the following definitions shall apply, in addition to the definitions set out in the General Terms and Product Terms:
“Alias File” means the file which contains ‘Locality’, Thoroughfare’, Delivery Point’ and ‘County Alias’ details.
“End User Data” means any data provided to GBG by the End User for processing in accordance with the terms of the Agreement including where relevant any personal data.
“PAF” means the database, or any part of it, known as the ’Postcode Address File’, containing all known delivery address and Postcode information in the United Kingdom as may be amended from time to time that the End User has elected to receive pursuant to the terms of this Agreement as supplied or contained in any Licensed Product. PAF is a registered trademark of Royal Mail.
“PAF Data” means Royal Mail’s database known as PAF and including the database known as the “Alias File” and any updates of the same.
“Permitted Purpose” means the purposes, restrictions and/or conditions for the use of the Dataset outlined by the Supplier as set out below, in addition to the Customer Use Case set out in the Agreement and at clause 2.1.
“Supplier Data” means the PAF Data provided by Royal Mail, which is the subject of these terms.
“User” means an individual authorised by an End User to use the Dataset.

2. USE OF THE DATASET
2.1. This Dataset may only be used for the Customer Use Case detailed in this clause 2.1, provided that such Customer Use Case is selected on the End User’s Order Form and the End User complies with any use case restrictions set out in the Agreement or these Additional Terms:
• Customer Management (Appending)
• Customer Management (Data Quality)
• Customer Management (Indicators)
• Records Management (Appending)
• Records Management (Data Quality)
2.2. In addition to the Customer Use Case restrictions contained within clause 2.1 (including any conditions that apply to that Customer Use Case) the clauses 3 to 8, shall also apply.
2.3. The End User warrants that it will not use this Dataset for any reason outside of the Customer Use Case and Permitted Purpose.

3. PERMITTED PURPOSE
3.1. The End User may freely use PAF Data provided it is in accordance with these Additional Terms and the Agreement.
3.2. Save as set out in clause 4 the End User must not be supply or provide a third-party with any access to this Dataset or the PAF Data.
3.3. The End User must not permit access to, display or communicate to the public the Dataset, except for the purposes of capturing or confirming address details.
3.4. Except as set out in these Additional Terms, the End User must not:
(a) transfer, assign, sell or licence the Dataset or its use to any other person; or
(b) use the Dataset to create a product or service distributed or sold to any third party which relies on any use of PAF Data.


4. SUBCONTRACTING
4.1. The End User may provide PAF Data to their subcontractors who may use it to the extent necessary for:
(a) the provision of information technology services to the End User; or
(b) acting on behalf of the End User
in each case for the End User's own business purposes and not those of the sub-contractor and provided that each such sub-contractor agrees to observe the restrictions on use of PAF Data contained in the Agreement and these terms and that the End User is responsible for any breaches of those terms by such sub-contractor.
5. PERSONAL RIGHTS
5.1. The End User’s rights are personal, limited and non-transferable.

6. ROYAL MAIL'S IPR NOTICE
6.1. The End User acknowledges that Royal Mail is the owner of the Intellectual Property Rights in PAF Data and it does not acquire and is not granted any rights to use those Intellectual Property Rights other than as set out in the Agreement and in these Additional Terms.

7. CESSATION OF USE OF PAF DATA
7.1. The End User must cease use of PAF Data if their right to use it is terminated by the Supplier or GBG and the End User must also destroy any copies of PAF Data they hold.

8. USE BY USERS OF PAF DATA
8.1. The End User must ensure that:
(a) the terms contained within the Agreement and these terms bind their Users;
(b) only their Users exercise the use rights of PAF Data granted to the End User further to the Agreement and these Additional Terms; and
(c) in the event of termination or expiry of the End User’s rights to use the PAF Data or Address Formatting Dataset, the rights of Users to use the PAF Data and Address Formatting Dataset also terminate.

9. DATA PROTECTION AND COMPLIANCE WITH RELEVANT LAWS
9.1. GBG provides this Dataset in its capacity as an independent controller.
9.2. GBG does not transfer End User Data to the Supplier to provide this Dataset.

10. MATCHING RULE
10.1. This Dataset will be processed against the Standard Matching Rule of address only.
